Flying in Morocco

is not so unusual, the late King Hassan II owned already a pilot's licence. There are several Flying Clubs, where you can rent planes. It is better to buy charts in your home country.

License validation:

4 Fotos

copy of the licence

copy of the last page of logbook (certified)

copy of your passport

I would recommend to send this papers in advance to get the validation. But don't expect to find the papers ready when you arrive, we are in Morocco. Validations are issued by the Ministry of Transports in Rabat, Division de l'Aéronautique Civile, but they have to be signed by an Aero Club before.

The validation is valid as long as the original license is valid, this means if the medical for a US-PPL ends, the validations ends also.

If you accept an instructor with you, the validation is not necessary. For flights over the High Atlas an instructor might be very helpful, because of the difficult weather situation. And also for the paperwork, a flight plan is recommended for all flights and you have also talk to the police. The radio communication is often in french. No night VFR.
